I HAVE GROWN 1 1/4 INCHES!

I herniated a disc in my back when I lifted something that was too heavy.  This caused severe pain in my lower back and I was unable to work.  I decided to try chiropractic because I didn't want back surgery.  I immediately saw results with chiropractic and was able to return to work.  I am continually seeing improvements and will continue with chiropractic treatment.  The techniques that Dr. Ulrich and Harder have used on me have worked wonders.  I just had my yearly physical and have grown 1 1/4 inches, I think it's because I can actually standup straight now!

CHIROPRACTORS ARE QUACKS!!

Or so I believed for the past 20+ years because of some information I received while working for an insurance company.  And that's really what I thought until that fateful Friday in November 2006.

As I bent to pick up a piece of paper I felt something pull in my back.  Having suffered from low back problems on and off I didn't think much of it.  However, by Saturday morning I could barely move.  I phoned my regular doctor and they were about to close for the day and offered to phone in a prescription for painkillers.  Not being one to take medication, my husband says, "Call the chiropractor".  Reluctantly I phoned Red-Rose Chiropractic where my husband had been prior and I got Devon.  I explained to her that I was in serious pain and that my MD had offered to prescribe drugs or told me to go to the ER, where they would prescribe drugs!  Sounding very concerned she put me on hold and after speaking with Dr. Ulrich they agreed to squeeze me in on a very busy Saturday.

Upon arriving my anxiety level increased because I was very skeptical; but I was in tears with pain and ready to do anything.  I couldn't believe I was in such pain; after all I had delivered three babies without drugs!!  The pain was nearly unbearable to the point of not being able to answer Dr. Ulrich when he asked if I wanted ice.  I've discovered your whole existence is centered on the functionality of your back!

When it was my turn to see Dr. Ulrich he was amazing.  Not wanting to increase my pain, he did a few basic assessments to determine what I might have done and low n behold, I slipped a disc in my lower back.  I don't even remember what kind of adjustments he made, but he gave me a lovely back brace, a must for every wardrobe, and told me to ice 20 minutes on 40 minutes off and don't do anything.  Now, that's easier said then done.  Besides being a mom of a 4,7, and 18 year old, I am a Real Estate Agent and I had 3 buyer clients ready to do business.  So with the help of my daughter I was able to take one of them out to a few properties on Sunday.  I returned Monday for another adjustment and by Tuesday I was back in business, all by myself!! Later that week when meeting Dr. Ulrich to discuss a treatment plan, I told him I thought chiropractors were quacks, nothing personal, just what I'd been lead to believe and he didn't become defensive but rather educated me on the spine and how it works in conjunction with the brain and the body as a whole.  It was very enlightening.  Dr. Ulrich's bedside manner is impeccable.

Then I was instructed that I needed to attend the New Patient Orientation.  I'm thinking BORING! WRONG! I would strongly recommend that everyone attend.  Poor Dr. Harder got side tracked by my million and one questions, but he too was very patient with my need to ask questions and he clearly explained the ideas behind chiropractic care and the benefit it has for everyone, injured or not.  Dr. Harder is a wonderful educator and doctor of Chiropractic Medicine as well.

Needless to say, I referred my daughter who was in a car accident and wasn't getting any better from physical therapy and I've begun bringing my two sons.  My 7 year old suffers from night terrors, but after an adjustment they seem to lesson in frequency and severity or disappear all together.

Discovering Chiropractic care has been an awesome experience for me and I would, and have, strongly recommended it to everyone!  Now I know that in every profession there are "quacks", but not at Red-Rose Chiropractic Clinic.  ~ Sandy N.
